Do you have a kid who loves Encore Stage and Studio? Is your family passionate about Encore’s mission and would like to learn how you can give Encore some love? We welcome you to join our Ambassadors group! We have a good time at our get-togethers, meeting about 8 times per year. As an ambassador, you can contribute your time and talent. Ambassadors help to plan and staff special events such as the Season Reveal, the Princess Ball, and the Benefit Breakfast that takes place each spring. We also help staff booths/tables with students at festive events such as Clarendon Day and distribute posters and fliers in the community.
Ambassadors can even make great contributions from the comfort of their very own homes, increasing Encore’s name recognition by completing online reviews and by voting, as well as by posting on community listserves. We also simply serve as valuable resources for parents who are new to the Encore family, available to answer questions or to address concerns.
Questions E-mail Director of Marketing and Design, Aileen Christian at info@encorestage.org if you’d like to join our efforts.
Camp Counselors help make camp a smooth, successful, and fun experience for campers! Each day, counselors have the opportunity to lead or assist teaching artists with classroom activities including theatre games, warm-ups, and craft projects. Counselors may also help campers to rehearse scenes, learn choreography or movement combinations, or prepare for the final camp performances. Counselors also frequently take on administrative tasks, including helping to run check-in and check-out, preparing class materials, and setting up or cleaning up camp spaces. Counselors are expected to be punctual and fully present for each day of camp, and to model good behavior for campers.
Applicants for the camp counselor positions must be at least 16 years old by June 1, 2022.
At Stage Door and Tech Camp:
Beyond the duties laid out above, Camp counselors at programs for 11-15-year-old students have additional responsibilities. At these programs, counselors will have enhanced responsibility for the success of the final production, which may include serving as dance captain, teaching technical theatre skills to small groups of campers, monitoring backstage areas during technical rehearsals and performances, or being asked to SM or AD the show.
This is a very active and hands-on position. Camp counselors at these programs are expected to be proactive and look for ways to use their individual talents to help the camp’s artistic staff and contribute to the camp environment.
When applying for a camp counselor position, please keep the rest of your summer schedule in mind. The expectation is that you will fulfill your contract commitment.

This position requires excellent organizational skills as well as the ability to cooperate and coordinate with others. The Stage Manager should be able to multi-task efficiently and stay calm under pressure.
Applicants must be in high school and at least 14 years old by the audition week of the production for which they are selected. Preference may be given to older students. At a minimum, a student needs to have worked at least four shows on Encore’s crew prior to applying to serve as a Stage Manager (one show as the Light or Sound Operator, one show as an Assistant Stage Manager, and one show training in addition to one other crew position.)
Students should plan to submit an application during the season before they would like to serve as a Stage Manager. It is also strongly suggested that interested students speak with the Artistic Director, Technical Director, or Producer to express their interest prior to applying.
