Theatre By Kids, For Kids!
At Encore, one of our key values is connecting communities. We believe that children are a powerful force, and that theatre can help to break down barriers and strengthen our ties. We love forming alliances to help foster positive change in our community. Encore partners with the following:
Arlington Food Assistance Center’s Healthy Play Initiative
Arlington Partnership for Children, Youth, and Families
Arlington Summer Camps
Activity Rocket
Baroody Camps
Bowen McCauley Dance Company – Move Me Festival
CultureCapital
Enrichment Matters
FLEX Academy
Mommy Nearest
Project Extra Step (Arlington Public Schools)
READY Coalition
Because we believe that all children deserve access to the arts, we work closely with Arlington Public Schools and with the Therapeutic Recreation Office at Arlington’s Parks and Recreation Department to provide access and inclusion services. Encore donates hundreds of tickets each year to students at Title 1 Schools and their families, and we work with APS Vision Specialists and Therapeutic Recreation staff to provide accommodations for students with special needs across our production and education programs.
We also offer an Accessibility Matinee during many of our productions. At these performances, families can find ASL interpreters, a special backstage tour, and other accommodations to make their theatrical experience more accessible and enjoyable. For upcoming dates and details, please email info@encorestage.org.
Encore also frequently partners with social services organizations throughout Arlington to collect much needed items like canned goods and coats at our performances. For more information about upcoming collections, keep an eye on our e-newsletter.
Encore Stage & Studio is supported in part by the Virginia Commission for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Arlington Cultural Affairs Division of Arlington Economic Development and the Arlington Commission for the Arts.
