Let’s Get Moving Mondays – December Camp
Join Encore on Mondays for our popular in-person, outdoor series Let’s Get Moving – Mind, Body and Imagination. Small groups of students will enjoy movement, theatre games and crafts led by Encore’s Teaching Artists. We are excited to provide an opportunity for students to spend (socially distanced) time with friends and activate their creativity!

The Art of Magic 2 Workshop | November 21
You asked for more and now you’ve got it! Welcome to The Art of Magic 2. What’s the number one magician’s rule? Never reveal your secrets! In this special workshop, you will learn secret magic tricks including illusions, mind reading, transformation, and vanishing. You will learn about famous magicians who have come before you, magical phrases, and develop a stage persona for your very own magic show! All magic tricks are new!

Encore’s First-Ever Virtual Halloween Scavenger Hunt!
Join us for spooky, family-friendly fun! Encore is hosting a video/photo scavenger hunt for all ages. Can you take the best picture of a carved jack-o-lantern? Or a video of a “werewolf” howling at the moon? Who can lip sync to a silly halloween song? We promise a load of fun challenges for every boy and ghoul!
Individuals or teams of up to five people may work together to complete all of the virtual Halloween challenges. The hunt begins on Friday, October 30 at 7 pm and ends on Sunday, November 1 at 7 pm. Prizes will be awarded for the highest point getters.
Cost is $10 per individual. Funds collected will benefit Encore’s outstanding outreach and education programs. Detailed instructions will be emailed to all registered participants the day before the hunt begins. Enroll today!
Flip the Script for Grades 7-12
Flip the Script: The Day Something Happened
Fridays, October 16, 23, 30, November 6, 13, and 20

Encore Stage & Studio invites students of all backgrounds to participate in our fall 2020 Flip the Script program, The Day Something Happened. Our project continues by building on the success of last year’s student devised production The Day Nothing Happened which explored the 1959 desegregation of Stratford Junior High School.
Over six sessions, students will examine racial divides in their own lives culminating in a filmed performance of original monologues. Friday night classes will be held from 5 – 6:30 pm in a hybrid format: in-person outdoor meetings and/or zoom. Community members, local historians and guest artists will inform our discussions and provide students with a framework for creating theatre that reflects their daily experiences. By creating an opportunity for a new generation of storytellers to investigate the racial divides that persist in our community, we will build bridges of understanding and ignite change.
$50 registration fee. Scholarships available. If you are able, please consider making an additional contribution to Encore in support of this important work.
