A festive #FrontRowFriday to you, friends! If you’re anything like us, you’re buzzing with excitement over winter break – getting to spend time with family and friends, taking in beautiful lights, singing carols, the works! In a season that can focus quite a bit on material gifts, we’re grateful to look back on seven wonderful highlights from the month of December. Read on to see what warmed our hearts this month:
1) Encore’s Holiday Party
It was such a joy to gather together with so many Encore participants, families, volunteers, and staff. There was a competitive gingerbread decorating contest, holiday trivia, and, of course, loads of delicious treats! Check out our Instagram featured story to relive the magic.
2) Jingle Sailed into Port
December saw the final two weekends of our musical holiday pirate spectacular, Jingle ARRGH the Way! It was wonderful to see audience members leave the theatre with some festive pep in their steps thanks to this fun new-to-Encore title.
3) The Merry Band Grows
This month we had 119 Encore participants, old and new, come out to audition for the cast and crew of Robin Hood. We’re certainly excited to see what this band has in store – mark your calendars for opening night on February 22, 2019 and get your tickets today!
4) Late Fall Takes a Bow
Our awesome education students from the Late Fall session shared their newfound skills with family and friends at their sharings on the final day of class. Green with envy? Check out our offerings for Winter 2019 and secure your spot on the roster by enrolling today!
5) Clementine Finds Her Feet
This week the newly announced cast of Robin Hood stepped in to assist in a first read-through of Encore’s world premiere musical of The Talented Clementine. It’s interesting to see a production come from inspiration to the page to being spoken aloud by real actors. We can’t wait to see the final product when the show premieres on May 31st, 2019. 6) Even the Impossible is Possible
The Encore staff took a trip to the theatre to take in a showing of the newly released Mary Poppins Returns…with a fun twist! Who could we be Disneybounding as? Head over to our IG to comment with your guesses!
7) Summer On the Brain
Perhaps most excitingly, this month we announced the themes and shows for Encore Summer 2019! From new formats to beloved titles, interesting themes to brand-new camps, we can hardly contain ourselves. Early Bird registration opens on January 1st, 2019 – you won’t want to miss out on these prices. Curious about a particular camp? Come try it out at our 2019 Summer Camp Open House on Saturday, January 5th, 2019!
What a whirlwind of a month it’s been! We’re so grateful to share all that we do with you, our participants, families, and volunteers. Without you, we couldn’t create such excellent “Theatre by kids, for kids.” Bundle up and have the best winter break!
